Marsha's Story
Life
I have 2 sons, 39 & 38 by my first husband, a Classmate. I completed my A.A. at Long Beach CC in June, 1981 and married my present husband in July, 1981. We lived most of our married life in the Long Beach and Orange County areas. We both worked at Douglas, Long Beach from 1988-1993 and were both laid off 1/93. We moved to Seattle area and my husband worked for Boeing 4 months! and was laid off again. We both qualified for retraining and I completed a Cosmetology course for one year and then worked at it for one year. August, 1995 my husband was recalled to Douglas Long Beach and we moved back to Orange County. After several moves and layoffs within the company he got a final layoff February 1999. rea again. I stayed behind in our new house in Anaheim since we didn't know how long he'd be there. After 15 months (7/01), we decided that I would move up to Seattle to be with him. We moved everything up there. Then there was 9/11 and the job ended 12/01. He started as a contractor with a new company 1/02 and had to be in San Antonio for training 1/7/02. We spent 9 weeks there and then were moved to WV. We've been here since 3/15 and just moved into a nice large rental house (we have 1 dog and 2 cats) on 4/15. My husband and I love to travel and have even made a trip to Great Britain in 1999. We also have a timeshare in Kauai and have made 3 trips there in 6 years. I attended the 30th year reunion in '91 and the 40th last year and had a ball! I'd love to hear from anyone from Samohi who remembers me.
