Marsha's Story

It's a LONG journey back to LCHS days, but here goes. After graduation in '72, I married and had my first child, Kris. We then moved to Salt Lake City, where I had a baby girl, Melanie, then to Baton Rouge, where I had my middle boy, Erik, and my fourth and last child, Michael, was born in Phoenix. (Can you tell I like to travel? haha) Along the way, I obtained a Nursing degree. We also lived in Cleveland, OH and Washington DC, before coming back to Cruces where I went back to school again and obtained my BS in Education from NMSU, and have pretty much been teaching since. Oh, yea..my kids' dad decided he didn't want to stick around, so we divorced. Through the years, I have played in several symphony orchestras, did a lot of community theater work (mostly musical comedies), and played/sang in country and classic rock bands. My other favorite activities included playing soccer (indoor and outdoor), tennis, and volleyball (which I have also coached). I'm also a "craftaholic", and love all kinds of do-it-yourself projects. ears, I had to do a LOT of things myself!! :) I am currently back in Cruces and all but one of my kids (Kris lives in El Paso, pretty close by) live elsewhere around the country with grandkids that I miss very much and try to see as much as I can. I just retired from teaching and am currently looking for my next "adventure". My middle son and daughter live in Austin (visited them this summer), and my youngest boy and his daughter live in Albuquerque. I have had all kinds of ups and downs in my life so far, but I wouldn't change a thing..my experiences have made me who I am, and I kinda like me. For one thing, I have learned that I love being single and plan to stay that way for the rest of my life. However, I would LOVE to re-connect with my high school buddies, and am kind of bummed that we haven't had a reunion in a while. I never heard about our 40th... I guess no one wanted to organize it? Anyway, I think I was in North Carolina then. Hit me up if you remember me, or even if you don't. And thanks for reading this...hope it didn't put you to sleep. :)
