Martha's Story
Once I landed on the west side of the state for college, I decided to stay! Access to Lake Michigan, Chicago, local lakes, less traffic, a three minute commute to work - wow, what could be better?!
I did live in Virginia for three years early in my higher education career. Met my husband there (he's a N. Carolinian), moved back here to work in Battle Creek and live within 100 miles from my elderly parents. (Now deceased, sadly. I miss them deeply.)

eer for United Way and other organizations and am a docent at the W.K. Kellogg Manor House on Gull Lake (his summer estate that now belongs to MSU).
We adoped two pre-schoolers in 1993; they're adults now. Time flies by!
I still work at the community college I've been at since 1987. I love my work with students, helping them succeed with their goals. No plans to retire yet; will keep going until it isn't fun anymore.
For fun, I belong to a small women's investment club (co-workers) that did fairly well in purchasing good stocks last year!
