Martha's Story
Martha graduated from Albemarle Senior High in 1971. Married in 1979 and I have two children; Johnathan (JT) who is 36 and Stacy who is 35 (sixteen months apart). I have two precious grandsons: Jackson who is 6 and Jacob who is 2. They are my world!
I worked for Hudson Pool Distributors for 9 years then worked for my father until he died in 1992. At that point; I went back to school and started the Accounting degree at Gardner-Webb University 4 nights a week for 2 years, Graduated with Bachelors in Accounting. th Western Carolina University on the weekends that I was very fortunate to be accepted to. I graduated with a Masters in Two Year Community College Administration/Education. I then decided I need a Masters to teach Accounting so back to school I went. Graduated again from Gardner-Webb University with a Masters in Accounting. Started teaching full time during all of this at Stanly; then proceeded to Rowan Cabarrus Community College where I have been for 14 years. I am now Lead Accounting Faculty and some Administrative duties which go along with my job. I love teaching; wish I had done it 25 years ago.
