Martha Moody:  

I always wanted to be a nurse when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were right. I went to Hurley Hospital School of Nursing in Flint. My senior year of Nursing School I enlisted in the Army Nurse Corps. That same year, I met Dean, my husband of 35 years. Before we got married, I served at Ft Riley Ks. and left active duty in 73. Dean & I got married that year at St. Luke's in Flint. Jeanette Matsco Welsh was in my wedding. We lived in Indiana for 12 years and that's where our three sons were born in 76, 79, and 81. We spent a short time in MI before moving our family to Wylie TX in 88. Over the course of our marriage I went back to school and graduated with a BS in Nursing from Indiana University and maintained reserve status in the Army.
