Martha's Story
Life
In April 2007 I retired as Director of Risk Management for Fort Bend County, Texas. I retired as the Risk Manager from Montgomery County, Texas in April 2002 after serving 11 years in that position and 5 years as their Assistant Purchasing Agent. I have 31 years of government experience. I have been fortunate to have done a lot of things and been a lot of places. I was appointed by Governor/President Bush in 1997 to serve on the five member Board of Directors who oversee and establsh the State Office of Risk Managment (SORM) for the State of Texas. I served two terms as Chairman of the Board. I am listed in the Who's Who of Professional Management and I am a past President of the Texas Public Risk Managers Association(PRIMA). lc Risk Managers Association (PRIMA).I am apast member of the board of directors for the Surplus Lines Stamping Office of Texas. I have been an avid hunter most of my life and I have hunted all over the world and I am active with the Houston Safari Club and the Gulf Coast Chapter of Safari Club International. I was named Sportswoman of the Year for 2005. I have three children,six grandchildren and a Bichon Frise(my Dog)whom I enjoy spending time with. I enjoy my church, family, hobbies and plan to continue enjoying each day.
School
I enjoyed my friends and attending Hot Wells and Brackenridge. I had a lot of fun during those years. I would love to hear from some of my classmates. I have lived in the Houston area most of my adult life but I get to San Antonio several times during each year.
