Marti's Story
After moving to Louisiana, I finished high school and attended LSU. I graduated with a BS in dietetics and a MS in nutrition. I went to Augusta, GA for a year to complete an internship in dietetics and became a registered dietitian. I met my husband, John, while I was in graduate school. We married in 1992. We moved to NJ where our son, Matthew, was born in 1996. We moved to Arkansas in 1997 and our daughter, Sophie, was born in 1998. We moved to New Orleans in 2000 and then to Baton Rouge in 2001. e moved to St. Louis. John grew up in St. Louis and most of his family still lives here. Our moves were either John's job transfers or changes in companies. I have been a stay-at-home mom since Matthew was born. I worked at Pennington Biomedical Research Center as a research associate, dietitian prior to our move to New Jersey. I hope to re-enter the workforce soon here in St. Louis. It is great being back here! Our daughters go to Parkway (North High and Bellerive) and our son goes to St. Louis Priory School.
