Martin's Story
Life
hey all you Tennyson people out there...this is Martin Carr
and it is 2005!!!! It has been almost 20 years since I saw
some of you folks and I hope that you are all well!! Even
though I didn't have too many friends at THS it was almost
an enjoyable experience...hahaha! Anyhow...I spent 5
years at Chabot College after Tennyson High...Worked for
Service Merchandise in the jewelry department in diamond
sales for three years while going to school...I got fired
from Mrs Fields cookies during high school for giving too
many cookies away!! After Service Merchandise I worked
for Mervyns Credit Offices for a whopping 8 years in the
collections department...Maria Benin came along to work
for us too...she didnt last long as I believe management
was in her blood and she moved up the ladder...as for me
I was laid off of Mervyns as they moved to friggin Minneapolis
to pay people less money and I went to school at Cal Hayward
and majored in Health Science with a minor in business...Yeah
I finally graduated in 1998 at the old age of 29! Well hey, I
did make it before I was 30! Worked for a wine shop while
going to Cal Hayward buying wines...kinda sucked, but I
was drunk most of the time at work so it wasn't that bad...
I always had Trung Lam to visit me to have a shot of good
tequila with me before he went on to his fantastic job as
a Director for the county in the health care system...yeah
he makes big bucks no whammies...So after graduating at
Cal Hayward I went on to grad school in SF for public health
which I did a complete Tomiko Jambor and dropped out after
the first semester...that is OK though...cuz I did get good
grades just like me and Tomiko our first quarter at Chabot!
And now I work for a pharmaceutical corp pushing drugs to
the old folk...actually convalescent home recipients who
really dont get if they are high or not...but it is OK...even
though I got my hours cut about a year and a half ago when
I bought my new Eclipse I...Expand for more
thought I would end up having to
become a part time hooker in SF or work at a clothing store
in the castro as a manager doing shipping and receiving...
of course I chose the latter as I would be a poor hooker!!
Just as one of our T-Shirts say at In Jean Ious in the Castro
"You betta stay in school dumb ass...You too ugly to become
a good hoe!" A good motto I believe...Theresa Sarmiento
and Bernie Benin are a couple of people I still talk with...and
once in a while I see Sandra Corral...beautiful as ever...all
three of them of course! I live in sunny Castro Valley so
very close to all that is happening in Union City and of
course Fremont where everyone else seemed to buy a
small place with two bedrooms...a kid and two cats!!
Anyhow...I am rambling...whatsup with this Classmates
thing anyhow...I have had my name up in here for about
four friggin years and not one person has contacted me...
LOL...laugh out loud...As I said in the beginning...I guess
I wasn't that popular in high school even though gorgeous
Annelyn did had a crush on me...or was that Jaime V...
LOL...I dont thinkso...even though he really is the nicest
guy to run into in the castro...very cool guy...honestly...
hey what the hell happened to Harinder Sanghera??? Did
she move back to England "where she was born" or did
she marry a nice Indian guy and move to Punjabi? Heck
knows...Diane King is still a great gal though...You should
contact her...she was my first friend when I moved here
from England...everyone else was too stuck up...not Lori
Foster or Julie Torbick or anything like that...haha...just
kidding gals...you were nice to look at on some days tho!
And of course not to mention all the jock boys that are
now rather large and in charge but that is OK...keep
rollin' with it fellas...Anyhow...hope all is well with those
in the east bay land...lets have a beer sometime and
then you can come over and visit me in SF and I will
give you a deal on a good shirt!
