Martin's Story
After graduating Central High School in 1966, I attended Hinds Junior College for one semester, then Belhaven College. I served in the Air Force in the 19th Bombardment Wing (SAC) Homestead AFB FL.
I married Patricia Ann Bates from Terry MS. Divorced after she ran off with another man. Patricia and I had two children: one daughter Elicia and one son Walter. Married again in 1979 to De Ann Kimbrell from Spring TX. Adopted her daughter, Shaunna, and we have one son, Randy.
Regarding work, I left Jackson in 1974 with The Austin Company and was transferred to Denver CO. In March 1975, I was transferred to Baytown TX with C. E. Lummus Company. In 1984, I was transferred to Cedar City UT with Ebasco Services Inc. In 1986, I started with ExxonMobil Chemical Corporation (Polypropylene Manufacturing division) in Baytown TX, and retired in 2006. In 2007, I started with BP in Texas City and retired again in 2012.
I have seven grandchildren:
1. Marty 2. Stephen 3. Aubrey 4. Julez 5. Tyl...Expand for more
er 6. Kaden 7. Walter Dale.
Marty, Julez, , Walter Dale, Tyler, and Kaden live in Texas. Aubrey lives in Mississippi. Stephen lives in Georgia.
I have owned three classic cars. but due to daily maintenance, they found a new home:
1. 1966 Chevrolet Chevy II SS, frame off restored, 350 cid small block, 700R4 trannie, 3:73 gears, candy apple red, grey tweed cloth bucket seats, crager wheels.
2. 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS, 454 cid big block, 400 trannie, 3:73 gears, blue with grey stripes, black interior,
3. 1967 Pontiac GTO, 400 cid, manual four speed. 4.33 axle ratio, metallic blue with black vinyl top.
I love music especially from the 1950s, 1960s & 1970s.
My good friend and brother, Vince Vance of Vince Vance & The Valiants, and I hang out together when possible. I have made all sixteen Vince Vance cruises, and look forward to the 18th cruise 2022.
This is a very abbreviated version of my life, with lots of stuff only I would care about, so I won't bore you with that information.
