Martin's Story
Life... What a ride!
Work way too much, play little, but play hard. So hard it becomes work too!
Married twice, currently to terrific lady from Rome NY, Suzanne, and we live in Fairfax County, no children.
Having fun as I enjoy cars (currently have a Lingenfelter Supercharged Corvette) and have owned Audis, BMWs, M-Bs, JAGs and a Ferrari. I never grew up in that regard. Waste too much money on cars, I don't recommend it.
Leftover from PD days, I still enjoy the shooting sports. Not a gun rubber, not a huge proponent of 2nd Amendment radicals, but I enjoy shooting. Possibly because it is a terrific escape from stress. Shooting is my "golf ball" that's it.
Unfortunately, I play hard at shooting and it becomes work. Have been blessed with much success in shooting competitions, and have set shooting National Records (30+) over 4 decades, in the 1980s, the 1990s 2000s and the 2010s.

What a journey through public schools in Alexandria! Crazy, immature, misguided and down right stupid. That somes up many of my GWHS experience. Yet, I somehow survived it. I feel like I should join Earl with a list.
I did however, meet many terrific people at Mt Vernon, Parker-Gray and George Washington HS.

College
College was pretty boring for me. Worked at Gordon Keller Music while going to George Mason COLLEGE, then part of UVA, later to be GMU.
After a rough start graduated with Distinction due to two profs that got me motivated. Profs John Linn and Jim Metcalf. Commuting, no dorms, didn't establish any life time friends, as I was either in class, or going to work!
Workplace
Immediately after College, went on to Fairfax County PD. (Can you believe that?) Spent a few years in patrol division, then was assigned to the Academy as an instructor. Great time teaching Police Driving, Motor Vehicle Law and in charge of Physical Training. I was a fitness fanatic, most recruits hated me, but loved the results!
Got involved in Police Pistol Competitions through the PD, and managed some National Records and Overall National Shooting Champion in 1981.
Left the PD in 1983 to pursue independence in business, i.e. my own boss, and went into REAL ESTATE and have been ever since. Real Estate and Northern Virginia have been good to me, with the support of many HS & PD friends over the years.
Still in RE at RE/MAX Allegiance and work all of Northern Virginia and adjoining areas of Virginia. Have had a great career in RE, and it has enabled me to do some things, and have some toys that only dreamed of prior.
Since RE offers me some schedule flexibility I picked up shooting sports after a 15 year layoff, and managed to get back in the groove pretty soon. Fortunate to have set National Shooting Records in the 1980's, the 1990's and the 2000's.
