Sondra's Story
Life
I've owned three businesses. Worked as a para-medic, para-legal, and now I'm just a para...these... (Can you guess?) Seriously I've also been doing catering for 30 years now (My company is called "Heavenly Nibbles")
I've been doing paramedic work in Los Angeles, California for six years now. Working with hospice patients as well as Red Cross and local Fire station. Got my masters at Pacific School of Religion in 2004 and this helps in my job tremendously!
I am still on the Board of Directors as the founder of WestMUN, a Model United Nations Conference program for collegiate students and we just celebrated our 17th Anniversary! This year (2009) will be my 7th year doing our Annual Children's Conference for the United Church of Christ, so that is wonderful fun along with the Model U.N. Conference.
My work with the Red Cross has kicked up a great deal due to the number of natural disasters we seem to be having. Seems I'm going all over the place these days. I'm one of them who drives the ERV...Emergency Rescue Vehicle. And I cook...Expand for more
if need be.
Gustav and Ike in Louisiana and a LOT of fires this past year.
Just enjoying life as best that I can here in sunny Southern California and hope to get together with anyone who wants to get together. I'm on call 24/7 so it is rather crazy with my schedule, but anyone can call me at: 818-346-9683...my very busy cell phone. I currently live in Brentwood
College
I started my college career at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. I continued ten years later at California State University - Northridge where I completely changed both my major and my minor from Pre-med and Music to Political Science and Religion! I finished up my bachelors in 1990 after becoming greatly involved with Model United Nations courses and work. I did a few classes in the Master's program, but never actually completed that.
I went back into Ministry Studies through Pacific School of Religion and the Disciples of Christ Seminary Foundation. I completed that in 2004.
Now I'm searching my heart and soul for what I want to be when I grow up!!!
