Marvin's Story
Shortly after HS I moved away from G'ville for work. I lived in several places, i.e. Ga., Fla., back to TN, VA, and finally settled in Texas. I have lived for the past 35 years in the Houston area although we did move to Singapore for 18 months.
Still do a lot of traveling to Asia, Middle East but lately I mainly travel to Brazil and Japan.
Through my work I have travel the world somewhat and have with out a doubt found the Good'ol USA is the best place to be for absolutly everything.
I finally found and married a wounderful woamn in 1997 and now have two children by her, (girls). My oldest daughter, Ingrid, graduated from UT at Austin in 2009 and my youngest, Lynn, is starting her senior year KPHS. My wife Marta was a teacher at a private Christian school in Kingwood TX where we live.
I went back to school in 1991 and graduated in 1995. I work in the Oil & Gas industry engineering and designing offshore drilling rig such as Drillships, and Semisubmersibles...Expand for more
. I started out in construction and moved in to drafting and am currently the Drilling Program Interface Executive Manager for Enseada Industrial Shipyard in Brazil but am employed by Odebrecht Oil and Gas.
Those of you that know me from my HS days are probably about to go in to shock as you read this. I know, I know, I did not expect this either; from party animal to streight laced business manager. Go figure.
My life as it is now, is very good. I am not rich or poor, just making a living. I am happily married to my friend, Marta, and as the years go by I grow closer to her. I am very pround her and the girls.
Why I have been blessed as I have I do not know but I guess I did something right along the way or it was just dumb luck but most likely He has a plan I just haven't figured out yet.
Take care guys and gals of Goodlettsville Class of 1979. I hope to hear from you all.
