Marvin's Story
Music was, is and always will be my passion. After high school I played with some local bands and wrote a few songs. In 1973 I met Rene & Rene of "Lo Mucho Que Te Quiero" and "Angelito" fame. That same year they recorded one of my songs titled "The First Time I Saw You Girl" which helped launce a successful songwritng career. January 1974 I left to serve in the U.S Army and continued writing and performing. It was then that one of the Rene & Rene singing duo was leaving and Rene Ornelas invited me to replace him. My songs have been recorded by Rene & Rene, Rudy & The Reno Bops, Mazz, La Mafia, David Lee Garza, Ram, Marcos Orozco and a few others including myself.
In 1984 I established my own publishing company and have issued licenses for my songs to companies such as Capitol, Sony, Univision and others.
Presently I am still involved in recording projects and also provide consulting and administrative services to songwriters, musicians and independent record labels on copyright and licenseng matters.
