Mary's Story
Life doesn't always turn out the way you expect. My biggest surprise is that when I look into the mirror, I see my mother. I think its time to color my hair. She was beautiful and her smile always greeted the day. I do miss her. I am lucky to see her looking back at me in the mirror. I totally understand her comments and that groan she made when she stood up after bending over. She passed away several years ago and when things happen in my life or my kids, I still want to go to call her tell her about it. I'm sure she is very aware of all that is going on.
When I look back on my youth, I was so sure that I could control everything and make sure I was going to raise my kids totally different than my parents did. I knew I was going to have everything I wanted and I was going to have it all. As time passed there is wisdom in life and its teachings. I think my parents did pretty good with it all. I didn't move into my dream home but my dreams of having a family and career all came true. Blessings are bountiful. No complaints looking back but I've done my share of complaining. I've got many friends, worked a good long time doing what I loved doing as a Respiratory Therapist for 30 years at LDS Hospital. I have 3 children, 2 boys and 1 girl which blessed me with 4 grandchildren. Amazing how you feel about your grandkids. That was something that totally surprised me. You visit their home and you are an instant VIP.
I'm very close to my brothers and sisters. We all still live in Utah except my one sister, LeeAnn, who lives in Reno.
I'm married to Lloyd Tanner. We've been married for 37 years. He's always been a hard working man and still is at 73. He is a graduate of West High in 1955. We've traveled alot and had our share of greatness and failures and lots of inbetweens.
I have two Weimaraners. I love the breed. I rescued them from the shelter and I have to...Expand for more
admit that most of my household activities revolve around them. I have a female named Shotzie and Duke, a male. Shotzie is getting old and Duke is a pain in the sweet butt. I love them dearly. You give them a a few minutes on couch with you for a one time luxury with you, then they own the whole couch. Try and take it back and they become the biggest sneaks and when your not looking they remind you who owns it and they'll share it with you. I also have to fight everyday for my bed due to the same issue on the couch. One time weakness and they'll share the bed with you. Duke is a clown and howls for his meal everyday. Lloyd is the designated feeder and Duke won't even let Lloyd in the bathroom for his first morning visit, without Duke reminding him that he is second on his agenda. If you have Weimaraners, please let me know. I'd love to hear your stories, as a matter of fact, if you're an animal lover I'd love to hear. I guess life wouldn't be right if I didn't put a few pictures of them here. I just need a little time. It'll happen soon, I hope.
I'm still chubby. I think those who knew me would still be able to recognize me. Its ok to ask me my name if you see me and know me from somewhere. I'll most likely need to ask you yours. I know names and faces, just not them together at the same time. I'll soon put a picture of me here when I get one that flatters me a little. :) They're hard to find. They all seem to look like me. When I find one I like, everyone comments that the picture compliments me and when I find one that I think is horrible my family say that it looks just like me....much to my grief.. I just don't get it, I swear they go out of their way to take the worst pictures of me, especially when I have a fork in my hand and my mouth wide open to receive the goodness. Please send me a note here. I'd love to hear from you all. Love to you all.. Mary
