Not many people knew this in high school, but I was adopted.
I was born in Tampa, Fl
Mary Ann Akerley.
My mother gave me up for adoption at the age of 5.
My mother's sister (my aunt) and her husband adopted me.

I took my uncle's last name.
When I got married, I dropped my adopted last name and kept my original last name as my maiden name.
