Mary's Story
Hello Eastdale Alumni
It is June 2013 and life is good with the Soye family. Conor and Julia have both graduated from university and have jobs in their fields -- Conor in Real Estate financing and Julia in HR. They are currently living at home (so much for that empty nest thing).
Des and I are still owners of Algonquin Careers Academy which is a private career college specializing in Paralegal and Pharmacy Technician and also offers a variety of other courses including Personal Support Worker, Medical Office Administrator, Legal Assistant, Medical Lab Technician. We have a campus in Ottawa and one in Mississauga (ne...Expand for more
ither particularly convenient to where we live!).
We live in West Hill, Scarborough (since 1983!) which is conveniently located between downtown Toronto and Oshawa (to get back for visits). It is a fabulous area with the Rouge River, the Rouge beach, and great neighbours.
Mom still lives on "the Hill" in Oshawa. Des' Mom moved from Oshawa a while back to live closer to us which works out very well.
I am in regular touch with some ex-Eastdalers (my great buddies Joanne Bathe/Freitag, Brenda Kell-Kotwa and Sue Hart/Davies) and irregular touch with some others. It is always great to catch up with people.
