Allen's Story
Life
Well to do this and not exceed 2000 characters will be hard. I am a rambler. After high school, I tried college for a couple of years and a few schools (Richland, Crown,UW-L) All the "stress" of school lead me down a path that had me lost in the woods for a few more years. I did my share of partying during this time, and I swear all I was trying to do was figure stuff out. I met a lot of interesting people, drank my share of beer, and watched a lot of t.v. (this is when I started my obsession with X-Files - Ha!)
My life changed due to many events, one being marrying Lisa Garbers. She encouraged me to go back to school. I started college again at Winona State in the fall of 2000, and finished the summer of 2002. The funny thing is this was the school I wanted to attend from the beginning, but certain events kept me from being admitted (its a short story that sounds long). ool - I am not a school type of person, but I got by with my charm and ability to BS.
Presently, I am staying home taking care of Nathan (1-12-02). In order for me to stay at home we (lisa and I) are doing foster care. So my job is a househusband and I love it. The plans for my future are to work with people, possibly owning and operating a "group" home in the future. Lisa is working on her masters at U of M, and works full time in a Winona mental health agency as a case worker.
Nathan is my boy, and he is the joy of my life! I was so worried about him in the beginning- well I guess I was also worried about how much he was going to change my life. The change is definately an adjustment, but its an adjustment that I would make over and over if I had to.
I hope to meet up with some old friends to catch up. For those of you who can't let things go- I am sorry you still haven't moved on. (life is too short!).
