Mary's Story

Life Wow! 49, turning 50 April 2008! Never thought I would be that old and somehow it doesn't feel that old now! I am "justhorsey" and would love to hear from you! I have been happily married for 25+ years and still going strong. We have 2 children. A daughter, 30, who has given me 3 wonderful granddaughters, ages 12, 10 and 6, with a grandson who is 3! I love being a grandma!! And a son who is now 23! Boy never thought he would reach 18 or that we would survive! Great heart and a good kid, just kind of like me! Oh well! Currently we live on Whidbey Island, as do our children. We had owned and operated a Bed & Breakfast on Lone Lake until it burnt down this last spring. We now live my dream, we own a small farm. I also work full time at Boeing, and have for over 30 years. We have two dogs, three cats, 4 horses (a Arab/Quarter cross, a Tennesse Walker, an Arab Pinto, and an Icelandic) and 23 laying hens. We probably well not increase in animal numbers anytime too soon. I can't wait till I can retire, my work just keeps interferring with life! I love to spend time with my husband and grandkids! The kids are fun to be around too. My desire has always been to live on a farm... am I am really thrilled to have a wonderful place right here on Whidbey! I think I have always wanted to live on a farm. Yes, I still love animals! I have started to take classes to become a Veterinarian but kind of decided I am a little too old to undertake soooooo many years of schooling, I will just love and enjoy them instead! I am well on my way to an AA (2 classes to go and a 3.98 GPA)with all classes st...Expand for more
arted after I turned 42. I may do something with the education; then again, I may just retire at 55 and enjoy life with my kids (animals & humans alike). After I left Saint Edward’s in 1971 (end of 7th grade), we moved a lot! I went from South Shore Middle School/Rainier Beach (middle of 9th grade) in Seattle to San Jose, CA, only lived there about a year. Then we moved to my favorite place, a farm in Modesto, CA, I loved it there but we only stayed there about 6 months! From there we headed East, Malvern, PA (just outside Philadelphia) That was OK, but everyone thought I was from Washington D.C. once I clarified that they would ask if we still had horse drawn buggies!!! I lived there about 9 months. Then we moved back to California again, Huntington Beach where I graduated from Edison High. Since then my college education has been at Everett Community College. Yes, for all of you who knew my brother and sisters, they are all still alive and doing well! From oldest to youngest: Diane, Joe, Aileen, Mary (me), Lise and Kati. My mom mom passes away a few years ago (new years 2004). My dad passed away before my son was born. I often wonder about Marie Ganocious (I know I spelled that wrong!), she was my best friend in grade school. If anyone knows her whereabouts or how to get in touch with her I would love to talk with her again! I have managed to touch bases with two of my other best friends, Kimm from San Jose and Beverly from Malvern. I can't wait to meet up with them, hopefully soon. Anyway God’s been good to me and I hope he has been as good to you! I would love to hear from you!
