Mary's Story
I am living in the beautiful state of Colorado. I moved out here after my first divorce in 1994, was only going to stay one week to help my mom but never left. I always wanted to be a nurse when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were right.
Put myself through nursing school and have worked at the local hospiital for ten years. Now I'm back in school working on my BSN then hopefully on to my master's to become a Family Nurse Practioner. I am now a case manager at a hospice agency which I find quite rewarding, and gratifying....Expand for more
I feel it is a honor to be able to walk that last walk in life with someone and ensure that they have quality in the life they have left. Sort of like "providing pillows to walk on instead of the painful thorns" on the final journey that terminal diseases have in the end.
I like to go for a walk, ride my horse or go for a drive when things get overwhelming, and of course my dogs just love that. I enjoy camping, fishing and just relaxing in the great outdoors. I have been fortunate to be able to have travelled to France and Italy, and to see some very ancient archeticture.
