My Spouse
I met my husband at a party at my house that I shared with four others during college. He left his girlfriend at home, came to the party with a date, and wanted to get a date with my roommate who invited him to the party. This wanna-be womanizer turned out to be the most loyal husband & friend!
Our kids
We have two wonderful boys. The oldest is in high school (9th grade, 2005-06) and is a swing player for the JV-Varsity soccer teams. The younger one is in 7th grade, and his main interest is boy scouts. They both do Tae Kwon Do (with mom & dad) although there seems to be much less time for that!
Our Pets
We have 2 dogs, both lab mixes from rescues, and my youngest son has 3 guinea pigs (2 were rescued!) I used to have 3 cats. The last one, Ninja, died at age 18. She was my favorite-I taught her to fetch those 1 inch pom-pom ...Expand for more
balls when she was 4 months old (I guess I was really a closet dog person all along.)
For years my husband talked about getting a Rottweiler, so to appease him we went to a Rottweiler rescue. After one of the dogs (who was behind a fence) freaked out at my son (age 7 at the time), I was even more adamant that we were not getting a Rottweiler. The rescue owner pointed us to the humane society down the road. After walking, and being walked by a number of dogs, I found Marvin, a shy 3 month old lab mix pup. The look on my husband's face was utter disappointment! I picked such a wimpy dog!!! Well, Marvin's come out of his shell and has turned into a great family companion (except we can't ever find a pair of shoes together, and I'm just waiting for the day he embarrasses us in front of company by saying hello with a pair underwear in his mouth.)
