I've added a picture of a true Panamanian/celebration dinner that a friend made for my birthday yesterday. It consists of fresh caught chicken, cooked and shredded from the bones, rice, local spices grown out in the yard, and other flavors. Potato salad made with potatoes, diced beets, chopped eggs, diced onions and chopped cilantro, salt, pepper and mayonnaise. A green salad with honey mustard dressing, fresh squeezed pineapple juice, and a pineapple upside-down cake for dessert. It was all yummy!!! It was a lovely afternoon with good friends and family!

Well I thought I would update my story some. I married last October 15, 2020, which was our 10 year anniversary of getting engaged. So we'll be celebrating our first anniversary of married life this October 15th.

Hi! I've been a little busy this year. I am in classes for singing and a Film Actors Workshop and I am really having a lot of fun with both. Some of you who follow me on facebook may have seen the pictures and excitement over a film festival here in Texas that I participated in with my FAW classmates. We received 7 awards for our short film called "Cell Phone Opera" produced by Studioe, Austin, TX. We came in 2nd place overall so we can now enter the National competition. Those reviews will take place in New Orleans, Louisianna so we are excited about that. When we qualify there we will go to Cannes, France for the film festival activities there. Of course we all think we'll get to go all the way to France.
I am also an extra in the TV series "Revolution". It is on the NBC network. I'm one of several "Refugees". I believe I was on episode 2 this past Wednesday night. At least some friends said they saw me walk across the TV screen anyway. I must have blinked because I didn't see myself. I'm going to try and look the episode up on the internet and see if I can find myself then. I should be in at least 2 more episodes this season if they didn't cut me from the scenes. I hope all of you are healthy and doing fine.

Hi all! Just a quick note to tell you that a new movie is out called "Bernie" and I was lucky enough to be in it as juror #12....Expand for more
As part of the jury we have our names listed in the credits and a little extra face time in the trial part of the movie. It stars Jack Black in the title role, with Matthew McConaughey as the lawyer Danny Buck and Shirley MacLaine as the widow Margerie Nugent. It was a lot of fun making the film and meeting some of the cast and crew. The story is based on a real murder that happened in Carthage, Texas. I met a couple of ladies that were in the cast who actually knew Mrs. Nugent and Bernie Tiede. (He was the assistant funeral director who befriended Mrs. Nugent.) I hope you'll be able to get out to see it when it comes to a city near you.

I had to give you all a head's up. I can be seen on screen in the movie "True Grit" at the Gallows and later towards the end. I believe it's about 4 or 5 times that I could see myself walk across the scenes first in a greenish hoop-skirted dress and later dressed as a Gibson Girl walking with a young lady who actually was the close 2nd for the young Mattie character. I was ecstatic that they actually left my part in there. It was exciting to me anyway.
Life
I worked part time through senior year and went full time when we graduated. I married in October of 1970. After my first son was born we moved to Texas. I have been here since then. I had a second son in 1974. Now I have four beautiful grandchildren and two beautiful great-granddaughters! I have buried three husbands and decided that was enough. I didn't plan to marry again. It's too hard to love them and bury them. But I have met a wonderful gentleman and we are making plans to marry. I'm hoping this time is the charm. My youngest son and his wife help me with this place and I lease the land to another man my son's age for running cattle. That way it's less of a headache for me. I hope to start traveling at some future point in time. It has always been some thing I've wanted to do. I've been researching my family tree and want to check out some things across the country.
I have my farm and my sons and their families and my church family for now. I have started acting, modeling and singing. I have had a lot of fun doing all of it too!
