Mary's Story
Life
I got married in 1981. Had three kids (1981, 83, 85). Moved to California in 1994. Got divorced in 2000. My first child joined the Army in 2000 and is getting ready to return to the states from Germany and will then be leaving for Iraq for his third tour over there.
I am doing well and enjoying life. Have gotten back on the dating scene and learning that things have really changed since 1981. I moved back to MO in 2003 and have just bought my first home in Independence.
School
I attended St. Mary's Grade School and then went on to St. Mary's High School. After High School I attended Penn Valley Community College for a year and then decided to start working full time.
College
I went to Penn Valley Community College for one year in the Dental Assisting program...Expand for more
. While going to school I was also working as a dental assistant. I realized I was paying to learn what I was getting paid to do. Didn't make much sense to me so I didn't return to college the next year. Now I wish I had at least gotten and AA. I hope to return to college and get a degree soon.
Workplace
I stayed home and raised my three kids for 12 1/2 years. Then I returned to the workforce and started working part time for Cokesbury bookstore. Was promoted to a store manager in 6 months and was transferred to California to open a new store. Left that job after a couple years and have been a church secretary, administrative assistant, office manager, and worked in doctors offices. Currently, I am working at Argus Health Systems, downtown KC. as a Sr Admin Asst.
