Mary Grace Calhoun:  

Life I was born Dec. 19, 1954 in Richmond County to the parents of Dr. and Mrs. Hugh O. Queen..There were 4 children in my happy family and growing up in the small town of Hamlet, N.C. had its advantages..I was born the third child and lived a very full life with private kindergarten for 2 years, piano and dance lessons for at least 10 years and many church activities at the FBChurch in Hamlet..I was lucky enough to attend Hamlet High School most of my teenage years then graduate from the first year of the Richmond Senior High School...I seemed to make friends quickly and have remained closely with lots of my hometown friends today even at the ripe old age of 55..Sorry to say that both my parents are deceased...My mother, Margaret Carroll Queen died Feb.12, 1997 and my father, Hugh Oscar Queen died March 10, 2002..I miss them both very much because they were the most outstanding parents a child could ever have..They stood for goodness, honesty, integrity, and giving of themselves to the community..Just recently my brother Gene Queen died of Alpha I anti tripsen deficiency and we miss him greatly..He was the big brother everyone should have!! I went to Peace College and East Carolina and moved back home to teach at my elem. school, Fairview Heights after college..I taught for 7 years there till I married my husband April 6, 1985..We have moved around with his job as a civil engineer and we have one child, Chester, now 26 and senior at FAU in Boca Raton, FL..He is a dedicated student and works very hard at a country club in a nearby community. He will always be the light of my life...We have lived in south Florida since June 1996 and I call this home...Expand for more
