Mary's Story

Well, my story, let's see - I am very happily married to a great guy. I have a son who lives out of town with his wife and my two beautiful grandsons. I retired in 2006 from Immigration and love retirement. I spend a lot of time on the computer working with haiga. I love photography and poetry and haiga combines the two. I'm also in the process of creating a website ( I'm not allowed to post my website address, but just google "petals in the light" if you would like to see it). I only have a 2 poems and 5 haiga on there right now (June 2008), but hopefully, it will be finished in the near future. I have approximately 60 haiga and over 100 poems to add in. I've had to deal with a lot of health problems, but God always gets me through. I had brain surgery in 1998 for an arachnoi...Expand for more
d cyst and had a shunt inserted into my brain; I have cognitive problems which mostly effects my long term memory. It's funny though, when I look at the list of names from our class, I associate the name with the picture from our yearbook; I've had 4 mini strokes; and my newest additions are fibromyalgia and an underactive thyroid. My balance is also effective by the cognitive problems, so I bought an adult tricycle and love to go riding. My faith is an important part of my life. I'm very conservative and involved with pro-life. It's been a little difficult though because I gave up driving due to my cognitive probles. So I guess that's about it :) I'm not a gold member, but it was nice to take this opportunity to post here, during this free period. Mary Davila (Haeick)
