Mary's Story
After graduation, I attended Ohio Northern University for 1 year, where I met husband #1! He is the father of my 2 beautiful daughters. We got married and moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and lived there for a year. We both had very good jobs in Tulsa, and we absolutely loved the area, but we both got homesick for our families, so we moved back to Ohio. Looking back on this, I believe that Dan and I would probably still be together had we stayed in Oklahoma, because we had to rely on each other. Anyway, after 8 years of marriage, we got divorced, but, like I said, we had 2 beautiful daughters during that time, and I am thankful for that. They are the light of my life! Kim is 23 and Kasey is 21 now. Kim is married and has a child, my first grandson! He is absolutely wonderful! Kim lives in Findlay, Ohio, which is where I am living currently. Kasey lives in Cincinnati with her step-sister. After Dan and I got divorced, I moved with my mom and dad after they retired close to Cincinnati, where I met husband #2. I lived with him in Cincinnati for 8 years. This was a very abusive marriage, both physically and mentally, and I barely made it out alive. I decided after that marriage that I was no longer going to let anyone run my life except for myself! I have become a much stronger person through all of this. I have had my ups and downs, but I live by the saying that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I am in a relationship now and have been for 9 years now and it's a very nurturing relationship. I met Vicki during all of the turmoil with my 2nd husband, and she is the one that helped me to get out of the house safely. She is my best friend, my soulmate, and I cannot imagine my life without her in it. We moved to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee with my job 4 years ago, and we absolutely loved this area. We loved the mountains and all the beauty of the Smoky Mountains. However, once my daughter had her first ...Expand for more
child, I decided that I couldn't live so far away from my grandson. I didn't want to be a long distance grandma, so we moved to Findlay to be close to him, and that's where we are. Do I miss Tennessee? Every single day of my life. But, I wouldn't want to be anyplace but here right now, because my grandson, Kyle, is too beautiful for words. I never knew you could love someone so much! He's 9 months old currently, and is very close to walking. We miss our friends and our jobs in Tennessee, but the move has been worth it. It's so nice to be able to jump in the car and be able to see my grandson and daughter within a matter of minutes as opposed to 9 hours! I'm currently still in the hotel industry as a hotel front office manager. I like the hospitality industry, although it can be trying at times. But, any job can be trying. My partner is in retail management. We live a very quiet life, and that's such a nice change from the turmoil that I used to live in! Her love for me is unconditional, and she has pulled me through many hard times. I cook for relaxation and I am constantly creating new dishes. Someday, I'd like to publish a cookbook. I also write to destress, and I do have a blog site. If you are interested in reading my writings, you can check them out at browneyedmary dot blogspot dot com. I'd love to hear what you think. They aren't pullitzer prize winning writings by any means, but they help me to remember things from the past and I just write about whatever happens to be on my mind at the time. Anyway, I've probably bored you to tears by now, so I'll quit for now. Hope to hear from my old friends sometime. You can reach me at the above address from my blog site. I have not upgraded my membership to classmates, so anyone who signs my guest book, i cannot see, which i think is a crock of sh**! So, if you want to reach me, contact me through my blog site. I really hope to hear from you!
