Mary's Story
Life
After graduation, I attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, for a short time, then business school, and then Moorhead State.
In 1968, I married Donald Schubert, and in 1969 gave birth to Sara Jane in Moorhead. Sara is now a registered nurse and Air Force captain living in Wichita, Kansas, with her husband Nick and three of her six children, Baxter (17), Anastacia (3), and Alexandra (born 10/18/07). The other three live with their father in Tampa, Florida.
I lived for a year in South Dakota, then it was back to Park Rapids before moving to the Twin Cities in 1973. A year later, I gave birth to a second daughter, Sonja Lane, who married a Texan she met while in the Army. She and husband Eric now live in Fort Worth, Texas, with daughter Robin (9) and son...Expand for more

In 1976, Samantha Louise was born. She and her daughter Rhylee (8) moved to Fort Worth from the Palm Beach, Florida, area in Oct. 2007.
I divorced in 1981 and began a career in graphic arts. After a decade of working for others, I formed my own company, Ihla Communications. I had remarried in 1985, and used my new name because it is so unusual. My husband David is a tool and die machinist and avid golfer.
For a few years we spent every summer in Park Rapids at a mobile home on Fish Hook Lake. However, we sold that in 2004, but we try to get up there at least once or twice a year.
