Mary's Story

went to college after high school. Met my husband there. Well, actually, met my boyfriend there, it would be just silly to met my husband there when I wasn't even married yet. lol Ok, well anyways, been married this year for 34 years. Hell...are we getting old or what? This is just crazy. Why did our parents act so damn old when we were going up? I feel, mind..not body, I feel no different then I did while in high school. I still do stupid stuff and act silly to the point my kids think I've lost my mind. But dang, life is way to short. I swear my mom must have been born old! We became foster parents for the state of Indiana. That was a great time in our lives. Great because we adopted two babies through that. Not so great because I got too attached to them, and never wanted to give them back. And by the time you get back the same child, and the state keeps giving them back to the same people to beat up or abuse again and again...I just couldn't take it any more. When you do something like that...if you don't do it ...Expand for more
with all your heart, you can't do it. But in the mean time, each child takes a piece of your heart when they leave. I finally had no more to give. Ok, enough of that. I loved being a mom. David and I couldn't have our own. Way too hard to explain why here, but God did give up those two boys. Jeremy and Joshua. Both are students at Indiana Univesity. Josh wants to be a history prof..and Jeremy wants to be a Social Worker. I know his heart is tender, so I'm hoping he changes his mind. I wont ask, just I think his heart is way to tender to handle it. Neither are dating right now. I swear I am thinking I will never have grandchildren. <sigh> Do any of you have daughters out there? lol Kidding. Ok, that's it. I'm a housewife. David always liked that I was home waiting for him. lol I do this job to the best of my ability! lol Hey, someone has to do it. I'm not crazy about doing dishes for the last 34 years, but its a great job! Take care...and truly, it was so wonderful being a part of all your lives. I had a great time!!
