Mary's Story
Married Barney Shows in 1974-two beautiful kids before divorcing after 16 years. Married Marty Ambrose in 1993 after a whirlwind 8 month courtship! Have had loads of fun. Daughter Melinda has provided us with 2 granddaughters. Son Clint has a boy and a girl. I'm happy for them. I am having a blast being GrandMary to my first fairly local grandchildren.
Marty passed away from ALS on June 30th 2010. It was a devastating and brutal time for us. On one hand it seems like just yesterday he was with me and we were happy - on the other it seems like it was a completely different life and I feel every moment of the time he has been gone from me. I want to live the life in front of me - and have all the fun there is to be had - I have always worked hard, but in July 2020 I walked away from what had been my life for well over 40 years - almost 30 at my last firm. The firm of which I was part owner. The cost finally outweighed the personal and emotional investment. And I walked away. I am still figuring out my future, but feel better without the internal war I had been fighting for the years leading up to the finish. I still want to be like Marty - When my end comes I want to be able to say - "I really don't want to go but I sure lived while I had the chance and I'm okay with moving on to the next adventure".
