Mary Lou's Story
Military
Boot camp was in Orlando, A-school in Pensacola. First duty station was Northwest, VA in a cow pasture, basically. I enjoyed my work. Overseas duty was on Gtmo, Cuba and I was there for a year and half then was early released. It was beautiful there but I missed the seasons. I went to college on the GI Bill and used the skills I learned to get a job in the computer field. I was a crypto tech-operations and had a top secret special intelligence security clearance but can't tell you any secrets!! I was fortunate enough to work with the Marines and the Royal Canadian Mounties in an exchange program in Cuba.

r and I taught piano and voice. I taught part time in a private school-music- and also worked in a library, doing children's story time and manning the front desk. I currently volunteer at my local branch and I enjoy it.
I moved cross country last summer from New England (VT) to Portland, OR. As a farm girl, I never thought I'd live in a city, but it's great. I have a new house in a development that is LEED certified, meaning eco-friendly. I love the weather-no more shoveling out from under piles of snow and shivering in -17 degree cold! Fresh fruits and veggies are available all year. We haven't yet seen the Pacific but it's on the to-do list.
