Mark's Story
Hi there,
Where I've been...
My spouse: A Rebel Cheerleader
I met her at the Lani Kai on Ft. Myers Beach in 1987. She worked there, and one day she was about to walk by me when she stepped on my foot, on purpose, know what I mean. She keep walking as she was with a boy friend. I caught up with her later and now we have two wonderful children in their teenage years.
Career: Pipeline and Highway R/W
I have been a Right-of-Way Agent since 1979. This after turning golf pro for one season in 1978 at Heather Hills CC, Indianapolis, IN and starved like a peasant. Before that, I was in restaurant service industry since the age of 15. This is where I had run into a few of you over the years.
My true love for work and hopefully a career was in Golf as a player. But, those dreams were lost due to arthritis. Also, it's a shame that the Cape Coral CC is no longer open. I have often wondered why the City hasn't condemned it for a public course. It was a great layout.
Health: Changed by AS
I was very health and physically fit until at the age of 19 when a childhood accident reveal itself in the form of arthritis. That accident triggered some life long maladies that I believe have run its course now that I'm 54. Damn, why tak...Expand for more
e so long. I am shorter than you may remember me but feeling good. Pain free without drugs.
Memories:
I have fond memories everywhere. Brazil, IN, I never wanted to leave there at least not while we were in school. It was a great place to live, and Annunciation was an awesome school you don't see anymore. Just four rooms with four teaches teaching two grades each. Double promote and flunk are words your don't hear of today.
Cape Carol was great for golfing. Being a retirement community with one stop light and one stop sign when I moved there. I had a scary start with gang fights at the Yacht Club and then later the riots at Fort Myers that rolled over to Cypress Lake with no real fighting just vary tense. My swimming and golfing experiences were awesome. Pelican Blvd. was the best but I have fond memories at York Court, too.
Terre Haute, Ind., need I say more my hometown. My friends there were awesome.
Now having been in Pennsylvania since 1989, except for three years in upper state NY, just 45 minutes outside Philly. I still play golf when I can, swim often and work all the time trying to take care of the family. I hope you have taken care of yourself and May God Bless us all.
