Mary's Story
After receiving my BS in Medical Technology at the University of Michigan (GO BLUE!) , I worked in hospital laboratories in the Chicago suburbs for many years. For the last 19 years, I have been the Technical Director at a community blood center in Rockford, IL.
I am married to my first love for almost 39 years. We have 4 fabulous children and one grandchild. Our oldest has pretty much settled in the Chicago suburbs, but we have no idea where the other three will ultimately land. ...Expand for more
One is working in Philadelphia (for now). Her twin will be doing an internship in Washington this summer. The third is moving to Ann Arbor in June.
We hope to retire in the Chicago area in about 5 years. We are still paying college loans for those 4 fabulous children, so it doesn't look like we will retire any sooner.
We come back to Michigan for a couple weeks every summer. We have a cottage in Bay View near Petosky. Once we retire, we will be there most of the summer.
