Fred's Story

Life Lived in Trout Run PA until 9th grade. Moved to Juneau AK to finish out HS. After HS went into the Army and did my bit in Vietnam in the Infantry. I was in 1/27th Wolfhounds 25th Infantry Division serving in the Cu chi area. Worked for Western Airlines until it left Juneau then went to College to get an AA in Automotive Technology in Anchorage. I worked briefly for a few places in Juneau and then in 1976 found a permenant home with the State of Alaska DOT&PF as an Auto mechanic. I am now Retired. We live in Eagle River, Alaska 13 miles outside of Anchorage. We moved here in 1985 when I decided I'd had enough of the rain in Juneau. Have been married since 1979 to a wonderful woman. We are currently planning to live in Alaska until we can't handle the cold any more. ------------------------------------ Additional data. We moved to Palmdale, CA where we are...Expand for more
taking care of my wife's father, Thomas G. Walker. He has gotten so bad he needed some help so we are here with him in a small house in Palmdale. We are not sure where we are going to finally settle, but there is a good chance we will move back to Alaska after he passes away. The housing market has taken a dive here so we need to get to a point where we have money ahead and can have money for a down payment in Alaska before we move back. We also might move to Colorado. We are going to be taking a trip there this summer while Tom is in "Respite Care" at the VA in Sepulveda, CA. We currently have two standard poodles, a Cockapoo, Shepard mix, Dalmatian and a Cat. They keep us busy. Mary and I just celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary yesterday. Congrats are in order to her for putting up with me all these years. Enough for the update.
