Mary's Story
Life
Married Jack Whitehorn 1957
Daughter: Keely, adopted on our 10th anniversary. She and her husband live in Oregon where she works in HR Payroll for a trucking company..
Moved to Manchester, Georgia, 1958, where husband owned radio stations;
Taught 16 years in Meriwether County, Georgia public and private schools.
Left Georgia because of husband's health and moved west (because of my allergy problems in Georgia) to Las Vegas 1979; Worked Kelly temp jobs (including this country hick working at Caesars Palace) and substituted as math teacher in Clark County School District;
Went to work for Nevada Power Company in 1984 (which was my first Kelly temp job in 1981), retired as Administrative Assistant II in November 2000;
After retiring, was assistant to my husband in his legal consulting business until his health would not permit his continuing.
In 2004, he had to have three of his six 27-year old heart bypasses redone. God continues to bless us. Jack is unable to continue the workload he had, but there is purpose in our days and we certainly aren't bored. Praise God!

ly 2008, I fell and was in the hospital three times by the end of October. This evidently was a blessing because they found a number of things wrong that they were able to correct. It is now June 30, 2010 (our 53rd wedding anniversary), and I'm still having to use a walker and can't drive. I'm blessed that I'm not completely immobile; Jack thought I would never be out of a wheelchair.
January 2012, Jack and I are still being blessed by our Lord and Savior. With all of his heart problems, he is still able to do a limited amount of legal consulting and I can still prepare his documents. I had a strange happening in July 2011. While standing, the bones in my right knee popped and came out of my leg. The tibia and fibula had broken. They put a rod in my leg. The injury became infected, thought they would have to amputate, but tried a wound vac which worked, praise God. I was in the hospital almost three months, but was able to walk with a walker when I left.
It is now May 2013 and I'm more limited in my mobility.
However, God continues to bless us and we are very, very thankful!
