Mary's Story
Update: June 3, 2009
I have moved from Modesto to Ripon where I am buying a house with my sister Dolly. I really like this small, friendly community. I also joined the Ripon VFW on my oldest son's military service. He was just deployed to Afghanistan on his 3rd tour of duty oversees. I still work as a busdriver for Ceres Unified and also have started working in the cafeteria at Mae Hensley Jr. High which I really like. My youngest son, Axel, is now an Operations Mgr. at MTC in Modesto. He is still single and very active playing rugby, rock climbing and working on trucks for the Baja Race later this year. I happily remain single and enjoying life to the fullest. I still enjoy camping, hiking, traveling, live arts, renaisance faires, movies, beaches, family and friends.
Life
I am marraige free and happy to be single once again. I share a house with two roommates who are loads of fun. I'm very proud of my two sons, Tim who is 33 and a Sergeant in the Army, and Axel who at 27 is a tile setter. I have three adorable grandkids whom I spoil long distance now they live out of state. After high school I left MJC to start a family, being a home mom while they were young. I enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, and coaching little league. When my youngest started kindergarten, I went back to school studying accounting. I worked in that field for 11...Expand for more
years b4 becoming a truck driver and traveling all over the U.S. After two years on the road, I became a school bus driver for Manteca and then Ceres where I currently drive. I love working in Ceres with the kids. From Preschool thru High School they can be both fun and a challenge. I have traveled to Hawaii, Jamaica, Cayman Islands, Mexico, Canada and Alaska. I plan to travel to Europe in the next few years to visit Italy, Greece, Ireland, Scotland, France and England for starters. As you may guess, I love to travel, including exploring locally on short trips. I esspecially like Monterey area and the Sierra Nevada mountains. But one of my favorite places is Oregon where I plan to move someday. With an entire coastline that is all state park, the Columbia River, tons of mountains and evergreens, numerous waterfalls and hiking trails, I can think of no better place to live. Best of all, you don't roast in the summer like you do in the Central Valley. I also enjoy movies, parks, zoos, hiking, camping, live arts, highland games and renfaires, gardens, home decorating, wine tasting, picnics, walking on the beach, being with family and friends, museums, antiques (which I am slowly becoming), boats, motorcycles, roller coasters and bumper cars, watching otters and sea lions play, and just flat out enjoying life because it's too short not to.
