Mary's Story
Life
I married my first husband in 1969. In 1986, we adopted a sibling group from Kentucky. We were then the proud parents of 4 girls and 3 boys, ages 4 to 13. What a change that was. I was divorced in 1996. I married my current husband in Las Vegas on September 15, 2004. I have 2 granchildren and 1 more on the way in 2005. I also have 3 step grandchildren. Life is good.
Workplace
After graduation I went to Pitt for a brief time. I then started working at Bell Telephone in Carnegie, 6 months later I transfered to the Sewickley office, 1 year later I transferred again, this time to the special accounts department on Stanwix St. in downtown Pittsburgh. company a total of 5 years. I took a few classes in income tax preparation and greatly enjoyed it.I began working for the Internal Revenue Service in Pittsburgh in 1976. In 1981, I moved to Meyersdale Pa, which is in Somerset County, where I started my own income tax preparation company. That was 24 years ago and I am still doing taxes. Considering all the changes Congress has enacted just in the last few months, I am never bored. I also have a large bookkeeping and payroll section so that I keep busy all year. Of course I don't sleep from the middle of January until April 15. I can't image doing anything else. I love what I do and I enjoy working with the small business owners.
