Mary's Story
Life
After graduating CU in '88, I spent the next 7 years teaching in District 12. I married a Rabbi in 1997 and have been enjoying the California life since 1999. I teach American History and Holocaust at an all boys Catholic Prep School. We had a beautiful baby girl Sept 22nd 2002. She joins our 2 cats and dog here in Sacramento. I would love to hear from you.
School
In retrospect, High School wasn't so bad. It was a hell of a lot better then Junior High but not as good as college. Other then being a smart ass (and nearly getting my butt kicked on more then one occasion) I was one of those people who you probably don't remember. I did adequate academically, was a bozo socially and band was really my only extra-curricular (with the exception of a short stint on the tennis team senior year) but when I think back I did have fun. Though I will admit, I like teaching it better then going through it!

ollege
I loved CU! From freshman year to senior year! Living in Sewall was the best thing I could have done as a freshman. These were 4 of the best years of my life. It was fun, challenging and I met some of the best people! Favorite professors were Rozek (PolySci,) Silverman(Hist,) and Avrashova (Russian.) I would certainly do college over again!
Workplace
My first job was at the North Washington Pizza Hut. That was a blast. The people I worked with were a lot of fun. Now I'm a teacher and I love it. I can't imagine doing anything else. I was honored to have worked in District 12 (now the 5 Star District- sounds like a rating) with many of my former teachers. What a treat it was to have those who put up with me (and educated me) as colleagues. Now I teach in California at an all boys Catholic High School. I can't imagine doing anything else or teaching anywhere else! I have the greatest job in the world!
