Life After leaving NVHS, I married my high school sweetheart in September and we both attended Central Washington State University until the birth of our first daughter followed by the birth of our second daughter about a year later. In 1964, I began working at the telephone company in Yakima as a telephone operator. In 1967, we sold our home in Yakima and bought another in Everett, WA. Doug began working at Scott Paper Company as an electrician there. I began working for GTE in early 1968 as a telephone operator and step by step moved into management in 1970. I held various positions from that time primarily in the area of writing technical instructions, performing special efficiency studies and doing quality analysis of operator work performance.
