Mary's Story
Hello everyone!
Well in the last 40 yrs many things have transpired in my life as I'm sure they have in each of your lives. So here is a quick rundown! Graduated from Delta 71, Fresno State in 73, married classmate Joe Correa 74, had first son in 78, Joe divorced me in 79 after I suffered a serious post-partum depression. I remarried a Portuguese bullfighter in 81 and had a beautiful daughter in 83. Went through devastating divorce in 87. Married my current husband in 91. Gained two stepdaughters and had my third child in 94 (yes I was 42!) Automatically went from 2 children to 5!!! Work wise, I was a marketing supervisor for Continental Cablevision (MediaOne) now Comcast for 17 yrs. When Comcast took over they eliminated my entire department. special education if I began an intern program with the county. I accepted and went back to school and received a teaching credential in Special Education. I have now been teaching at Sierra High since 2000. I am also teaching at Lindbergh Adult School in the ESL (English Second Language) program and have just begun teaching a Portuguese Cultural Class this year with the Manteca Senior Center and the Parks & Recreation Department. Linda (Ploehn)Wever and I still keep in touch and many other friends who still live in Manteca-Jean Pierce, Theresa Buettner, Marlene Machado, Virginia Gift, Jeanne Techeira, Lynda Kalin. Many do live in other towns, but family still live in Manteca and we visit when they are in town. So that's it about me! Signing out, I remain the many nicknames I was called at MHS!
