Mary's Story
After Sammamish, I went to Western Washington University and got my BA in education. An added bonus was meeting my husband, Jon, who I married a week after I graduated. I began teaching in Steilacoom in 1973 and stayed there for 17 years, before taking a job in the Fife district. While working there, I enrolled at PLU, and received a M.A. in ed. administration. at Yelm High School, Sumner High School, and Sedro-Woolley High School. I retired after 30 years in 2003, and have been traveling alot. In the past 4 years, Jon & I have been to Germany, France, Italy, Greece, Morocco, Egypt, and Spain. We head to Brussels and Bavaria in the fall. We have one child, who is now 32 years old, and two grandchildren, a 3 year old boy and a one year old girl.
