Mary's Story

Guess it is time to put a little info about me on this site. After leaving AHS I attended UGA for a year. Then went to work for The Travelers Ins. Co and from there to Eastern Airlines. Married Paul L. Johnson, Sr in 1965. Paul, Jr was born in 1966. That same year we moved to CT, then Mass,and PA, while Paul was on a training program for GE. Finally settled on Roanoke, VA, where Shawn and Brian were born. Then to NC, Ala, and Valdosta, Ga. Lived in Valdosta for 10 years. I was in Real Estate Sales in NC and Valdosta before becoming a Property Manager of 500 +/- units; 250 were single family homes. Also answered to 250 owners, plus tenants, boss, etc. I divorced while in Valdosta. Remarried in 1986; widowed Nov. 27, 1987. Remarried Gale E. Blessing 12/24/91; ceremony performed by my oldest son, Paul; then moved to Carbondale, IL where I have been ever since. ought in 1997 a small gift shop and owned it for 10 years. Gale died August 19, 2006. I then sold the shop. So, I am again a widow and called a Senior!! -- Paul, Brian and their families live in B'ham, AL. Paul is a counselor/therapist. Brian works for Ga. Power, out of Atl. but works from home in B'ham. Shawn and his family live in Jupiter, FL; he is Executive Chef for Cheesecake Factory in West Palm Beach. I really am so proud of my sons and their accomplishments. My interests are reading, gardening, photography, travel, and am an animal activist. Visit my family as often as I can. When I sold my store, which was in a Mall, I swore I would never work in a Mall again. However, this is my third year Managing an Off Site Day By Day Calendar Kiosk for Walden/Borders Books. Of course, with the understanding that I WILL BE with my family for Christmas!! We are gearing up now and open Oct. 6. So, you now have "my life" short version. Mary (Lou)
