Mary's Story

Life Hi everyone. I married Melvin Richardson. We are also on face book and my space (just search our names in Martinsville, IN).We have been together for 27 years now! WOW! We have 3 children; Nick-24, Sammi-23, and Jacob-21. They are wonderful! We are having a great time in life. I do a lot of work for our church, "Apostolic Faith Church" in Martinsville, (474 W. Highland Street). I am involved with praise and worship, organizing our youth camp, organizing fundraisers for our youth camp, and help get ready for our women's conference, as well as choir, and ladies auxiliary, plays, songfests, floats for fall foliage, chicken dinners,...busy busy busy!! :D Melvin had worked for Sumco,Inc, (an electroplating company in Indy)for 10 years. He has a heart condition and is now disabled and they will not allow him to work, which drives him crazy. I am a customer service representative with IPL (Indianapolis Power and Light). We have a grandson that is 1 1/2 and a daughter in law, Haylee, that is married to our son Nick for 3 years now. I haven't done a lot since school, but, most importantly I have learned to live for God (the best thing I ever did!!! He made a new person out of me), and raising my kids, but believe me, that is enough to keep me busy! :) With that said, I would like to apologize to anyone that I ever treated wrong or badly. Sometimes, you don't realize the person that you were, until you are older and you mature A LOT!! And I just would like to take this opportunity to apologize to ANYONE that I EVER did anything wrong to. I am truly sorry. I hope everyone is doing well. Hope to hear from you. A little about our kids.....this stuff will keep anyone running in circles to get them where they need to be everyday!! LOL Our kids love sports and music like most kids! At school-Sammi is now a Senior and is in Concert choir, Show Choir, and Madrigals Choir, and loves drama and stuff. She did her 1st play last spring (2011), South Pacific. And in 2012 was in the school's musical Cinderella. She also was Tweedle Dee in the fall play, Alice in Wonderland in the fall of 2011. She is also in our church choir and on the sign language/drama team at church! Jacob played 7th & 8th grade sports for his school. He plays several different positions on the football team and starting center for the basketball team for West Middle School. He is now a Sophomore and is looking forward to playing Football and Basketball ...Expand for more
for Martinsville High School. He also plays basketball for the YMCA league. And Nick is involved in a lot of stuff. He graduated in 2012. And spent his freshman year of college at Indiana State University majoring in music and in 3 of their choirs! :) He was a 4 year member of Show Choir-Martinsville Flashin' Fascination. He has done lights for the musicals and things. His sophomore year he started trying out for parts in the plays and has had some very good roles. He played Tony in "You Can't Take It With You", Marius in "Les Miserables", and Banquo in "Macbeth", and in "South Pacific"! He played the role of LT. Cable!! He got the role of Laurie in "Little Women" this past fall but declined to focus on his studies. He did get and perform the role of Prince Christopher in the musical "Cinderella" his Senior year. He is also a 3 year member of Madrigals, and a couple other choirs (concert choir and men's ensemble. He was in the Barber Shop Quartet for 3 years. He is in Thespians and is the Vice President of that group. And has been in Indiana's ALL STATE HONORS CHOIR 3 years running. And has been invited to go on a European Honors Choir tour. He has won a $16,000.00 Music Performance Scholarship to Indiana State University. He is in the Sycamore Singers Choir, the Concert Choir and their Madrigals group. So very proud of him! He played guitar in Jazz Band. He plays the drums and has taught himself, by ear, how to play guitar and piano. He also has a Christian band called 3rd Day Rise, is on our church sign language team, Hands of the Anointed, and in our youth choir (all 3 groups at our church). He is truly blessed and anointed of God. He has recently found that he is called to preach and has started preaching in our youth services. You can see videos and hear cuts from Nick's bands album and some of the school choir groups and Samantha on my my space and face book. Just look under my name Mary Miller Richardson. I am truly blessed to have such wonderful and talented kids. I'm not trying to "toot their horns....lol"! Just amazed at what God has done with/through them! God has truly blessed us! God Bless! - Mary :) ****update**** - Nick is now a United States Marine - recently enlisted. Sammi is in college at Vincennes University studying Forensic Science. Jacob is still trying to figure out what he wants to do with his life -- currently professional gaming.....not approved by mom and dad as a career lol.
