Mary's Story
Life
My flatmate/teammate and I have been working in Sevastopol, Ukraine and loving it there since January, when the revolution cooled down. We are planning to return in September of 2005 for another school year of teaching English as a foreign language. The Black Sea is beautiful, and the sunsets from our 9th floor apartment balcony have been spactacular. Crimea, Ukraine is rich in it's history. We try to visit the nearby ancient Greek Ruins, various monestaries, ancient fortresses and museums as often as possible. We also love to go to many various beaches with our Peace Corps friend. I have heard the snorkeling is great too so hope to take that in when I return. I have 3 kids, a grand daughter and another grand child due at the end of August 2005. My oldest son works at Intel in Hillsboro, OR; my middle son works in Moscow, ID, and my daughter is a member of the Ironworker's Union in California. My oldest son is married but the other 2 kids aren't at this time.
2008 up date
Well, after returning to Ukriane in the Fall of 05, one of our Peace Corps friends wanted us to go hang out around town with some of the local guys. I didn't think this was suc...Expand for more
h a great idea, so my team mate talked me into signing up with e-harmony instead. I met a really great pastor who had lost his wife 7 years ago. He came to Ukriane to meet me and we met up with some other team members in Moscow for Thanksgiving. We also went to St Petersburg together. Then at Christmas I came to Texas to meet the people at his church and his family. We then drove to Seattle, meeting my kids along the way and other relatives. By the time we arrived in Seattle we decided to get married. We've been married for 2 years now and loving every minute of it. I now work with him at his business so we're pretty much, together 24/7. God is good. We are so thankful He brought us together.
Texas is especially a great place to live in the middle of winter, spring and fall. For summer, we just use the AC. Thanks Al Gore
