MaryBeth's Story
In 1994, I quit my PR job in downtown Chicago and moved to Pittsburgh, PA to start a non-denominational christian church. I have family in Pittsburgh and thought a lot about relocating here. It took me a while to get a decent "career" job, but I recently celebrated my 10 year anniversary here at Ernst & Young. I work in Human Resources, and my focus is campus recruiting. Basically I help hire interns and entry-level candidates, which is very positive and a lot of fun. n 40 universities and it keeps me quite busy. The job is pretty rewarding.
Besides work, I enjoy being married (8+ years) to Greg Allen. Greg will be graduating this Spring with his Ph.D. in critical and cultural studies and is currently looking for a professor position - ideally teaching film theory and production. He is a filmmaker as well and has a multimedia business - feel free to check out his website --> panopticonmultimedia.com. We have two children, Michael, 6 (kindergarten) and Bethany, 3. We hope to stay in the Pittsburgh area long-term, but we are unsure where Greg's career may take us.
