MaryHelen's Story
Since graduation, I went on to college, UW, and received my bachelors degree and my teacher's certificate. i spent four years teaching in the tacoma schools, Lister 1st grade, then subbing mostly at McIlvaigh. I moved on to the Kent school district and have worked there since. I started subbing, then worked at Kentridge HS in the IP Sped program and got a permantent job at Meridian JH teaching in the IP SPED program. I also work at the district level as a trainer and on many committees. 11 years ago my brother gave me a nephew, Trevor, whom I love very much. Things began turning for the worse on the home front. Mom was getting increasingly sicker and relying on dad and I to take care of her. October of 2006...Expand for more
my wonderful dog Brutus died of almost 19 years. three days later we found ourselves with two new pups, Duke and Chester. Two days later my mother went into the hospital for a long ordeal culminating with her death on June 25th, 2007. It hasn't been the same since. I bought a 2007 Ford Shelby Cobra GT 500, red with white stripes. This past October my dad got his, 2009 Ford Shelby Cobra GT 500, black with red stripes. We are our own Shelby club, but also belong to three others. We travel around and enjoy shows, events, rallys, and community events. A former student of mine has just finished his 2nd year in the NBA for the Detroit Pistons. We are HUGE basketball fans. Right now enjoying my summer vacation.
