Life Good grief! I'm nearly 60 years old! Get back, Loretta!! I have been a junior and senior high school teacher for 30 years, now retired. My first job was teaching English and Journalism at Dana Jr. High School in lovely Arcadia, CA. Those kids I had for four years were awesome. I apologize to all of my students from my first year of teaching. I was really paddling in a leaky boat and I appreciate my principal, Don Wells, who gave me many pointers and "Pearls of Wisdom" to get me through a most harrowing year. I was only 21 years old and felt overwhelmed! We then moved to the high desert where we originally lived and I taught first at Hook Jr. High (really wonderful kids) and then Serrano High School (loved all those little 7th graders and freshmen). We moved to the mountain community of Wrightwood for eight years and I continued teaching at Serrano. We moved back to the desert, settled in Apple Valley, and I taught at Hesperia High (neat kids) and then finished up my career at Mojave High School, home of the Coyotes and also home of my really inspiring, creative and great students.
