Matt's Story
Life
Hello to anyone interested in what I've been doing over the past 20 years.
I entered the USAF Jan. 26 1989 and have held several different positions. My most current job is in Public Affairs for the 21st Space Wing at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs.
I have been able to travel the world and have some wonderful memories and some I wish I could erase. I think everyone should see how fortunate we are to live in the USA.
Moving on, I have been a single parent raising my three children for the past five years. It hasn't been easy, but nothing worth having ever is. They are bright young people and I can't wait to see what they bring to the world.
As far as interesting things I have done in my current job; ESPN 50 * 50, interviewed the President at US Northern Command following Hurricane Rita, worked directly with ...Expand for more
the Pentagon and White House to coordinate a local hero's visit and most recently was selected as the Photojournalist of the Year for Air Force Space Command. Google "Tech. Sgt. Matt Gilreath" if you'd ever like to see some of my work :)
My career is winding down now, many miles and countries traveled. I am looking forward to retirement from the USAF and starting a new career on the outside. I'm hoping to work for the NCAA or with the Broncos, Rockies or Avalanche. If that is not the course chosen for me, I have a nice job waiting for me as a photographer.
Well, that's about all for now. I hope everyone is enjoying success in whatever they are doing. I look back on my life and I will say this, "I wouldn't change a thing or any of the decisions I have made. I have always learned from my mistakes and came out a much better person."
