Matt's Story
Life
I sell magazine advertising for McGraw-Hill, and split my time between Hell's Kitchen and a house down at the Jersey Shore. Got married in September of 06. The time since High School and Shrub Oak has flown, but it does not seem like yesterday. It seems like three lifetimes ago.
I didn't realize it at the time, but that really was a Norman Rockwell childhood. I don't envy kids growing up today, seeing what they have to face. For example, I remember feeling the sting of an occasional verbal barb from Rick Liefels, but you know, unlike kids today, Rick never actually shot me.
I've lived in much more urban environs since Lakeland, and when I opened up our Yearbook one day, one thought came to mind, which was, " where are all the black people? "
Over and out.

at might appear to be redundant on my resume. I'm not sure if New Paltz really deserves that reputation, but I say that only because I don't remember that much of my time there.
Oswego certainly has a better reputation, but I don't think the kids there were any smarter. They certainly were more drunk.
Workplace
I always figured life after college meant riding the train to Grand Central every morning. I didn't notice that many people from the class of '80 doing that, I assume people found something better to do, or they lived in the city. Lived in the city for a while, was truly a life changing experience. So was 9/11 of course, the only way out of town that day was by boat to NJ. That looked like a good idea and I ran with it. Since then that's how I get into the city now, when I'm not working from home in a bathrobe. Working out well, except my bosses still say I'm not putting the right cover sheets on my TPS reports. And, yes, I got the memo.
