t the end of my second tour in Iraq, to be a Primary Marksmanship Instructor (PMI) at Weapons and Field Training Battalion (WFTBN) and train recruits how to shoot the M16A2 service rifle. While at WFTBN I was given the opportunity to shoot competitively. I won Western Division Rifle Matches (Camp Pendleton CA) (Gold Medal) and was sent to Camp Lejeune NC. to shoot in the Marine Corps Matches. Upon completion of the Marine Corps Matches I was selected to shoot for the Marine Corps Shooting Team. I traveled all over the Central and Eastern United States representing the Marine Crops in NRA High Power Rifle Competitions ending at Camp Perry Ohio for the National High Power Rifle Matches. After returning in August of 2005 to my unit I still shot competitively in between instructing and won two more silver medals at different competitions. One more medal and I will become a Distinguished Shooter in the Marine Corps. I will be leaving Weapons and Field Training Battalion July 18, 2007 to execute orders to 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, Camp Lejeune NC. I will keep everyone up to date when I get there.
