Matthew's Story
Life
There's an old adage that life is a journey, not a destination. As I've grown older this becomes more and more evident. After high school I earned a BA and MA at SDSU, which took seven years and probably shortened my life by the same amount. I then spent two years teaching out of my backpack and running around the hills of Santa Barbara, which probably got me five of those years back that I lost at State. After a trip to a job fair in San Francisco, I wound up teaching history in Huntsville, Alabama. I was in Alabama for eight years. ents. There's another old adage, that if you take care of the troops, the troops will take care of you. I must have done a good job with my students because they introduced me to my wife. We moved back to California where I am a professor at a community college. We have a little house that we are constantly working on and two cats that we try not to spoil. My wife and I spend our time working on the house and yard, until we reach the point where we absolutely have to hire a professional. How utterly bourgeois! Who would have guessed I'd end up like this? I guess the Revolution is finally over.
