Matthew's Story
Greetings from the "Land of the Morning Calm". Hello friends, I send you my best wishes from South Korea. Currently, I am working here in an academy teaching English to kids between 8-16 years old. In addition, I am helping to jumpstart an up-and-coming hockey program, while also doing research for my organizational consulting and training busines.
I'm not sure where our paths crossed through this life journey but let me just give you the thumb-nail sketch of what I have been up to. Attended Sts Peter and Paul Elementary School where i graduated from 8th grade in 1973. I then went to high school at St. Alphonsus in Dearborn through the 10th grade, until we moved to Livonia only days before the start of my junior year. Graduated from Livonia Bentley. After a few years of college, I enlisted in the US Air Force and served from 1980-1984.
With my Honorable Discharge in hand, I came back to the civilian life where I resumed my college studies, graduating from Madonna University with a B.S. in Busi...Expand for more
ness Administration in 1987. At the same time, I embarked on a career at Federal Express in 1985, starting out as a Courier, and worked my way up to Operations Manager and then Station Manager. During this time, I gained some valuable experience coaching high school hockey in West Michigan. I left there after 14 years to pursue some other career interests. Eventually, in 2003, I ended up in the Cincinnati area, and served as Asst Coach for the Mens Hockey team at the University of Cincinnati.
After relocating back to Michigan in 2004, I served in management with another transportation company until they went bankrupt. At that point, I started an organizational consulting and training business. In the Summer of 2007, I decided to go abroad to Asia to teach English, and to learn more in order to take the conulting business to a new place.
So thats it in a nutshell. I'd love to hear from any friends or acquaintances from the past. I hope this finds you in good health and doing well. All the best!
